(The Loss of) Snack Time

The kids go to bed at 7:30 p.m. It is Jacob's responsibility to remember his snack. If he doesn't remember until after bedtime, he doesn't get it. This barely ever happens. He forgot on Tuesday night.

No snack.

Tears.

On Wednesday, he came home with notes for us. We saw them in his school folder when he got home (he didn't know this). After dinner, he came up and put my note on my plate for me.

Funny boy.
"Hey, Mommy. I just want you to know that I want to have snack at 7:20.
That's all I want you to know! Love, Jacob."

Thanksgiving Lunch

Today was the Thanksgiving lunch at the kids' daycare. Benjamin's was at 11:15 and Jacob's was at 12:15. I took the day off and went to both. Greg came for the end of Benjamin's and the beginning of Jacob's. I got to talk with Jacob's teacher, which was great.

It's Official Now

Update on Jacob's relationship status: Lindsay asked him again, and today he said yes, he'd be her boyfriend. He then said, "We're like two peas in a pod, two grapes on a vine, and two oranges on a tree." Ha ha. Where does he get this stuff?

A Few from the Weekend

Last night we had fun playing Candyland. Benjamin won both rounds. He won a couple of days before that when we played Life. He is 2. He doesn't understand the game, but he has a lucky hand, apparently.
Jacob before the haircut Saturday afternoon, with one VERY loose front tooth.

 My little imp.

Jacob and Benjamin watched some Dora this weekend. Jacob was very serious while watching as a toddler. Now that he's WAY too old for it, he shouts along when Dora asks them to yell something. He gets very into it. I'm not sure what this means. Anyway, Dora was having them count to seven in Spanish. Benjamin yelled, "Uno! Dos! Tres! Cuatro! Cinco! Seis! SIESTA!!!" Hee hee hee.

Last night Jacob asked me if Greg like Star Wars as a kid. I said I didn't know, but probably. Jacob said, "I think he does. We talked about it once, and he sounded cheerful." :)

The Wife's History... Jacob Has a Girlfriend! (sort of)

Apparently Morin is history. Jacob told me a month or so ago that he held hands with Lindsay. He's been talking about her a lot lately. I got an email from her mom today and she said Lindsey talks about how smart Jacob is. Greg said Lindsay's dad said Lindsey told him she broke up with her boyfriend of two years (they're SIX!) and has a new boyfriend... Jacob.

Over dinner, I asked Jacob if he has a girlfriend. He said "not yet." I said, "Do you want a girlfriend?" He said he didn't know, but would no longer look at me. I kept asking (I'm a mom). He wouldn't look at me and said he didn't know who he'd like as his girlfriend and that he was thinking about it. I said, "Has anyone asked you to be her boyfriend?" He said, "Yeah. Lindsay." I asked, "What did you say?" He said, "I said I'd think about it." I asked when that was. "A while ago." "And you haven't answered her yet?" "I did! I said I'd think about it!"

Typical boy.

Jacob's Career Plan - Revised

The other day, Jacob told us his career plan.

Army
McDonalds
Cheesecake Factory
White Castle
Air show pilot (to do cool tricks)
Ruby Tuesday
Construction worker
Archeologist
Kindergarten teacher

Maybe the food industry jobs are while he's going through school to become an archeologist and kindergarten teacher?

Saturday

Today we did a little bit of work at Gleaners. Greg worked in the frozen foods and Jacob and I made holiday cards for senior packages. Jacob made some great Thanksgiving and Christmas cards. His last two were "Happy Football Season!" cards. His own idea. He drew the NFL symbol and someone throwing a ball through field goal posts. Hee hee.
Aunt Sarah took Benjamin on a fun play date while we were at Gleaners.
