Out of Order

I loaded these in the wrong order... but I figured out of order is better than nothing, so here goes!

After we had 15 inches of snow piled on our yard, Jacob finally got to go out and play in the snow tonight! He was pretty excited about how the snow covered his pants and wanted me to take a photo for documentation.
I wish this photo hadn't turned out blurry.
It's not an exciting photo, but I just think he's so beautiful. :)
During our day home together, Jacob wanted to make a square cake. I'm not sure why, but here it is! We made it yesterday and it's been drooping more and more each hour.
Baby B being adorable.

Auntie Anne came to visit for my birthday. Jacob and Benjamin had a great time with her!
I didn't remember to take a photo on Benjamin's 8 month birthday until about 11:30 that night. He was sick and had finally fallen asleep, so I didn't want to risk waking him with the flash. So, for the first time... I'm a day late.

Benjamin loves being upside down.
Playing with Jacob's "monster trucks."
Jacob playing a Thomas the Tank Engine game online.
Benjamin using Jacob's feet to pull himself up. :)

Greg and Jacob at the Pacers game.
Jacob in line to high five the players as they came out.
He's so little that it's hard to see him. He's right in front of the boy in the green shirt.
On the Thursday before the Monster Jam, Greg took the kids to see the Batman truck at an auto parts store. Pretty cool (if you're a 4-year-old boy)!

A Night for the Guys (two out of three, at least!)

Tonight Greg and Jacob went to the Monster Jam. Monster trucks smashing things and racing and competing. They started out the evening with a trip to McDonald's.
Enjoying his delicious burger and apple dippers.
Here's Jacob's favorite truck. He met the driver and got to see the truck up close on Thursday.
Watching Maximum Destruction flipping over. I love how expressive his face is!
The escalators at the stadium are not cool. Many people of lesser intelligence seem to think it's a good idea to just stop at the bottom of the escalator and block it. So, tonight someone bumped Greg from behind at the bottom of the elevator, which made him bump into a woman (one of the not-quite-so-brilliant people standing around by the bottom of the elevator). Her father took offense and started threatening Greg (nice job doing this in front of a 4-year-old). He followed Greg and Jacob through the stadium, still yelling and making threats. Greg finally got the guy to calm down, but talk about overreacting!

The First Benjaminism

Benjamin has shown himself to be very different from Jacob since the moment he was born. He is mellow and easygoing. He is a little more of a troublemaker, though.

I was holding him on my lap a few minutes ago. He had a pacifier in his mouth and was playing with an empty water bottle. He accidentally dropped the water bottle on the floor. He then looked at me, expecting me to pick it up. I didn't. He looked at the floor, then at me. Nothing.

That obviously wasn't working, so he dropped his pacifier on the floor and then looked at me with an expression that said, "How about now? Whatcha gonna do now, Mom? -- And while you're at it, pick up the water bottle, too!"

A Serving of Photos

It's been really cold out lately, so the kids had to bundle up. Benjamin wasn't sure about the hat at first, but appreciated it while we were going from the car to the stores!

Jacob helped make a cake for my birthday. Here's the best part of "helping."

Benjamin's very proud of his new skills. Check out that knee action!

Photos, Jacobisms, and Benjamin's Physical Feats!

I took this while Jacob was watching a train movie. Just ignore the leftover breakfast on his face. :)

Still my favorite foot in the world.
Benjamin loves baths. I mean LOVES them. He started smiling and leaning toward the water as soon as we got into the bathroom. Once he's in, he's just going nonstop. He doesn't mind of water splashes in his face. He actually doesn't even mind if he slips and water covers his entire face.
He just smiles and does laps in the tub.
Splash, splash, splash!
Jacob joined Benjamin for the last couple of minutes. They have a pretty good time splashing each other.
We had to return some outfits Benjamin got from George Bob and Papa for Christmas because they were too small. This is what we chose...
A green romper out fit with a frog prince on it.
The back is adorable.
A colorful striped outfit. I love these colors on him.
Check out his teeth!
An overall outfit... I need to find a white shirt with a collar for him.
Looking wistful. I'm not sure why.

Yesterday Benjamin got into the sitting position by himself. Today he pulled himself up onto his knees (almost to standing position!). He crawled a few "steps" in the tub tonight, but then quickly realized what he was doing and went back to his army crawling.

Jacob likes to make Lego "presents" for us. He gives you the present and then when you "open" it, he tells you what it is. He made Greg a present first today. When Greg opened it, he said, "It's a rocket!" and went into all sorts of details about it. It had a remote control and could go into space. He then gave me my present. I opened it, and he said nothing. I finally asked what it was. "It's... it's stuff for girls! (pause) Um... lipstick.... and nail polish.... and.... toe polish!" Ha ha ha.

Today he actually made a Lego present that had something in it! The inside was hollow and had a Power Ranger in it... pretty cool!
