Daddy's Goose

(From my journal to Jacob)

You love to say, "Where'd it go?" and hold your arms out. You say, "Daddy sleep. Mommy, too." You are very good at adding "-ing" to words and using it correctly.

The other day you pointed to some geese and said, "Goose." I said, "Yes, that's a goose." "Daddy's goose?" "No, it's not Daddy's goose. It's not anyone's goose." You paused and then said, "Daddy's geese?" :)

You say, "Car wash? Not today!" "Get gas. Cars getting gas? Get gas in it? In car?"

You sing, "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star." You love the "Itsy Bitsy Spider" and "My Funny Valentine." You call it, "You're My."

Sarah Come?

(From my journal to Jacob)

You've known for a while, but I forgot to write that you know when people are crying, they are "sad." You know to say "happy," too.

You love to dance to the Wiggles. You say, "Sarah come?" if you want to see someone (like Sarah).

You wear a little over a size 7 shoe now. You wear a 2T or 24 mo shirt (some 18 mo) and 18 mo pants have plenty of room. 24 mo pants fall down.

The One with the Yi

(From my journal to Jacob)

You can group 4 or 5 words together now to convey a thought. We're finally done with bottles. Hooray! Now we need to get rid of the pacifier (or "yi"). You keep picking at your face so you constantly have a scab or open wound on each cheek. We're thinking of getting gloves for you to help stop this. Your favorite stuffed animals are Wally and Frog.

Last night we think you had nightmares. You woke up crying and didn't want to sleep in your bed. So, you slept with Daddy on the futon. For some reason you usually can't sleep with both of us, and you sleep better with Daddy than you do with me.

You always want cookies. You just say, "One. One. Pease." You call your pacifier "new one" because we had to buy a few new ones recently.

Big movies right now:
Superman Returns
Cars
The Devil Wears Prada

"Burger..." (said in a very breathless way)

(From my journal to Jacob)

You are wonderful! I cannot believe how many words you know. You repeat almost everything. You love buses, trucks, and bikes. Oh, and lawnmowers. You are starting to call me "mommy" instead of "miney," unless you're really upset or tired. It makes me kind of sad because it's so special and because it means you're growing up! You are getting so old!

You had hand-mouth-foot this past week. On Monday night, you were burning up (103) and listless. We asked if you wanted dinner, and you croaked out, "bur-ger" like it was your dying breath. Your dad and I were laughing so hard. You're all better now, but I think you're still tired and you're cranky! You throw fits for very small reasons.

You love to "feed" us with your toy spoon when we read your picture book. Your favorite song is "If You're Happy And You Know It."

Oh, you love playing an eye blinking game. I used it one time when you were really tired to get you to fall asleep.

You say, "I love you." Before bedtime, we do a puzzle, read stories, rock, and then you go in your crib and we each hug you good night and get kisses. :)

You know about half of the alphabet and can do alphabet puzzles. You know all of the pictures under the letters just by seeing the letter puzzle piece. You know some colors and numbers. You know a ton of animal sounds. You don't like juice. You love Wally. You say "please" and "thank you." "Away" means put it away. "Side" means you want to go outside. You try to convince us of things with big eyes and serious head nods. Sometimes you cut our bedtime routine short by saying, "night night!" sharply and then we have to put you in your bed. You do a really good roar and a great "ribbit!" Grandpa S. is "Popeye." You love Kim and Maggie at daycare. You love to say, "Rosie."
