(From my journal to Jacob)
I can't believe I've gone so long without writing! Okay, a quick recap -- anything yucky or sticky or pieces of small trash are "djucky." The diapers and wipes have to go back in their place as soon as the diaper change is done. The remote has to be on the entertainment center. The lights and TV should be on. When you do give kisses (not often) they're open-mouthed and very wet. You hug the cats every chance you get. You love to give them cat treats. You like to climb into the play yard. On February 1st, you started jumping and doing somersaults (with help on the somersaults). You love to say "ball" and you draw out the "l" sound. Also, "bowl." Other words: shoe, trash, socks, wash, bah (bath), car, dog, cat, meow. The other day I was closing the dishwasher and told you to watch your fingers. It was so funny because you held your hand in front of your face and looked at your fingers. :)
You love to be outside. You love kicking, throwing, and hitting balls. We got you a fat plastic bat. You talk and talk in your crib. If you get discouraged, you just mess everything up. A couple of weeks ago you were throwing tantrums a lot, but that only lasted a week.
You give hugs a lot when you wake up now. It's so sweet. You like to listen but shake your head no if we ask you to talk on the phone. You can spot a balloon 5 miles away.
You love playing with big kids and just jump right in.
Welcome!

Blowing Bubbles
(From my journal to Jacob)
You got a big rubber ball today and you love it! You think it's a balloon, though.
Your Uncle Ben came for dinner tonight and he had bubble gum. When he'd blow a bubble, you'd stare and then stick your lower lip out and up. It's so funny! You had a great time with him.
You love to drop things and say, "Uh oh." You also say it when you think anything bad happens.
You love to run outside. You start laughing as soon as we put you down.
You love pointing to parts of the face so we say them over and over again.

Christmas in St. Louis
(From my journal to Jacob)
We had a great Christmas in St. Louis. You loved all of the attention. You got a wagon, which you love. For a few days, whenever we'd ask where your foot was, you'd say, "Gike" and hold up your foot. So cute!
You have 12 teeth now. You're so tall and thin. Everyone thinks you're 2 to 2 1/2. Your face looks old! You just don't have chubby baby cheeks.
You are so wonderful. You smile for everyone. There's so much to write. I feel like I can't cover enough.
You still love to touch skin. You reach up my sleeves to squeeze my arm. If anyone has skin showing, like above a waistline or a hole in the pants, you love to poke it with your finger. :)

The Cow Says Moo!
(From my journal to Jacob)
Trees are "eee." You have to point them out. Every single one that you notice. Your dad says there are a lot of them on the way to Nana's.
You've been sick with something you got from Brianna. You have a really phlegmy (spelling?) cough. Today you had some food in your mouth and started coughing, then choking, and then threw up. It really scared me!
You make a really cute tiny sound when we say "cat." You say, "Moo" when we say cow.
You sprouted at least 3 teeth this week. You are super drooly and snotty. You blow when we give you a kleenex and then you throw it away.

Wally Steps Up
Yesterday your dad spent all day making you a crawl-in house out of a cardboard box. It is so cool! He glued on each shingle (approx 620 of them). You go in it and just laugh and laugh. It's hilarious. We started watching Babe with you, and it makes you laugh. You got roseola a couple of weeks ago and ran a fever of about 104. It scared me. The doctor said everyone gets it, though. You LOVE your blankie and Wally. You have to pull the plastic guard rails off of your crib before you go to sleep, but they have to go back on when you're awake. You love to blow kisses. Your mouth stays open the whole time and you say, "Ahhm-whah" really loudly. You do it sometimes before you go to sleep. You love to laugh. You love cats and dogs. You love to play chase around teh house. You say "cracker" sometimes (cah-cah).

Bah-woo!
(From my journal to Jacob)
Last Friday I got you a balloon at Babies R Us. You loved it! You started saying, "Bah-woo" last Friday. It's so cute. We had to get rid of the balloon yesterday, though. You've started to not take your morning nap. You still go to your crib, and you just talk for a while before you fuss. You're not taking a longer nap in the afternoon, so you're tired in the evening. You love books and want us to read them over and over again. You love your blankie.
