Update on the Boys
The last two weeks have been busy. Jacob had a mystery illness that involved vomiting blood and a very high fever (105° F), several trips to the doctor, and a chest x-ray. Diagnosis: bronchitis and tonsillitis, with the blood probably caused by excessive coughing.
Thankfully, we had George Bob the rescue. She came for a few days to take care of Jacob and had tasty meals waiting for us after work. (You're the best, Momma!)
Benjamin's a little warm now and pretty congested, but is so far still in good spirits.
Now that he's recovered, Jacob is back to his normal arguments.... "Mom, I don't want you to talk to me like that. You're making me sad! You're hurting my feelings!" All said in a VERY hostile voice. He's been arguing over pretty much anything -- grasping for any reason like, "I wanted you to dry me off" after his bath and then when I try to do it, "I want to do it myself!!"
We think Greg might have gotten through to him (at least temporarily) today when Jacob told Greg he wasn't his best friend anymore. Greg said, "That's right. I'm NOT your best friend. I'm your dad." Jacob was quiet for a moment and then apologized. WOW. If you've been around our house lately, you understand that this is HUGE.

Are You Ready for This?
Jacob came out from his nap and told us there was a huge spider in his room. He said he's tried to get it but that he couldn't find it. I went into his room and there it was - and BIG. I told him to go get a shoe. Greg went in with a shoe and Jacob followed holding one of my shoes. They picked up stuffed animal after stuffed animal and finally came to the spider. Greg smashed it a few times. Jacob held up the shoe and said, "Are you ready for this?!?!?" to the spider. It was pretty hilarious. :)
