So... we spend more on our kids' shoes than we do on our own. I am not a shoe person. I don't really care about shoes (which is obvious to anyone who cares to glance footward). I buy cheap shoes because I treat them horribly.
When it comes to my boys, however, I love shoes. I love those cute, tiny little feet. I can't resist walking by the kids' shoe department in Von Maur every time we visit the mall.
I'd been eyeing a pair of Kenneth Cole shoes for Jacob for quite some time. When I asked, I was told that they only had up to a toddler size 10 and then from a big kid size 2 and up. Jacob wears a toddler 11. Saddened, I was left to only gaze longingly at the shoes each time we went by.
A couple of weeks ago, I was doing my customary walk-by and noticed that the shoes were MISSING!!! After lamenting the fact that I hadn't purchased them in a larger size for Jacob (and Benjamin, hopefully) to wear later, I saw that they were on the CLEARANCE table. Woo hoo! The sales guy told me they had them (velcro style) in a size 12, but not a size 11. Apparently the other sales people thought I was only interested in the laces style. So, I happily bought the size 12.
I went back again today to see if they'd been marked down any more. Nope, but they're still pretty cheap for Kenneth Cole shoes, and they were running out of many of the sizes. So, we have a velcro size 8 and a lace up size 1. I'm hoping I luck out and that Jacob and Benjamin will both be wearing the shoes at the same time at some point. :)
That was a lot of writing about shoes. Sorry.
